1 of many important assets I have modelled for my animation project. It was suppose to be a fast model of a chair, but I started to like it alot and gave it some more love and details than needed.
I used my own gaming chair as reference, taking alot of pictures of the details and looking at it myself.
I went overboard with the amount of controls I made for it in Maya. I had a lot of fun making sure this chair was able to lift & rotate the different parts and made an Aim-Constraint control for the wheels to aim at that works well, but really is not needed for my animation.
In Substance Designer I created own "Fake-Leather" look material for the seat material and a Hard Plastic Gritty surface material (the arms and foot for the wheel). The rest was painters own standard materials.
You can download the hi-poly model in FBX from sketchfab.
Very quick-pasted movie of my around 4-5 days of work, working around 2-5 hours on the chair.
